Common Questions
Answers to the things people often wonder.
Reach out through the contact form or send me an email. We'll schedule a brief, complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to talk about what you're looking for, answer any questions, and see if we're a good fit. If we decide to move forward, I'll send over intake paperwork through the client portal and we'll book your first full session.
I understand that life happens. I ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or reschedules. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a late cancellation fee of $50, which is not billable to insurance. I waive the first late cancellation fee for all clients. Full details are included in the intake paperwork.
I am available for counseling and supervision sessions Monday through Thursday from 10am to 5pm. If your needs are only slightly outside those hours, let me know and I may be able to be flexible. I do not hold sessions on weekends.
Telehealth sessions happen over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform β you'll receive a link before each session and meet with me from wherever feels most comfortable and private to you. Most clients find that once they settle in, telehealth feels just as connected and meaningful as in-person work, with the added benefit of zero commute. All you need is a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera.
I provide clinical supervision to two groups in Virginia: Residents in Counseling working toward LPC licensure, and counseling interns who already have an internship site placement but need a qualified clinical supervisor. If you're not sure whether you qualify, reach out β I'm happy to talk through it with you.
Because of state licensure laws, I'm only able to provide therapy and supervision to clients and supervisees physically located in Virginia. If you split time between states, we can discuss whether ongoing work is a good fit.
Yes. Everything you share with me is protected by HIPAA and Virginia state law. There are a few legally required exceptions (such as imminent risk of harm to self or others, or suspected abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult) which I'll review with you in detail during our first session.
